Here is the challenge: The existing E-commerce landscape lacks a user-centric platform catering specifically to the needs of busy professionals like Alex and fitness enthusiasts like Jamie. Most platforms often overlook the importance of personalized measurements and an efficient checkout process, resulting in a time-consuming and generic shopping experience.

Armed with insights garnered from user studies and comprehensive market research, my design approach seamlessly transitioned through a swift and iterative process. Commencing with a brainstorming session, I had to ideate through the different pieces such as page layouts, user flows, and information architecture that would make for a great shopping experience.

Commencing with a brainstorming session, I had to ideate through the different pieces such as page layouts, user flows, and information architecture that would make for a great shopping experience.
Subsequently, I progressed to the low-fidelity “paper and pencil” sketching phase, a hands-on endeavor that allowed me to do quick visualization and iterative refinement of concepts. This stage prioritized the rapid exploration of ideas, ensuring a solid foundation before advancing to subsequent phases.

Through user testing sessions and iterative feedback loops, I fine-tuned the prototypes to ensure a user-centric product and optimal functionality. The comprehensive approach, from initial insights to high-fidelity prototyping, culminated in the creation of a well-informed and user-friendly design that harmoniously aligns with user expectations.

I wanted to do away with all guesswork. Customers may quickly enter their size preferences using the measurement form in the product details page, ensuring that the item they see on the website will always fit perfectly when it arrives in the postal package. The goal is to give users the power and confidence to make decisions without second-guessing themselves.

Deciding the layout and flow for the checkout pages was a bit challenging because this is where most users get frustrated in online shopping. Users abandon at checkout most times because of long checkout forms and so a form that required only the essentials was the best way for me to go. This decision was validated through user testing and feedback sessions, where the emphasis on account creation resonated well with the target audience. The removal of guest checkout is a deliberate choice in crafting a user experience that goes beyond immediate transactions, aiming to create a community of engaged and returning users on the FitTrends platform.
